These policies help keep dancers safe, protect all participants legally, and allow us to share and celebrate our dancers’ hard work and accomplishments with the community through photos and videos.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY

The participant acknowledges that dance instruction is a strenuous physical activity involving the risk of physical injury and has taken all necessary steps to learn of any physical impairment that would limit or affect their safe participation. The participant voluntarily assumes all risks arising from their participation in dance instruction and hereby releases and waives all claims against Sovereign Ballet, any instructor contracted by Sovereign Ballet to provide dance instruction, and any and all other participants in the class for any damages arising out of instruction, demonstrations, or performances. Furthermore, the participant agrees to hold harmless and indemnify Sovereign Ballet, any instructor contracted by Sovereign Ballet to provide dance instruction, and any and all other participants in the class from any loss, cost, expense, damage, or injury arising from their participation in dance instruction, demonstrations, or performances.

PHOTO and VIDEO RELEASE

The parent, legal guardian, or dancer hereby grants permission to Sovereign Ballet to use the dancer’s image, likeness, and the sound of the dancer’s voice as recorded on audio or videotape without payment or any other consideration. The parent, legal guardian, or dancer understands that the dancer’s image may be edited, copied, exhibited, published, or distributed and waives the right to inspect or approve any finished product in which the dancer’s likeness appears.

Additionally, the parent, legal guardian, or dancer waives any right to royalties or other compensation arising from or related to the use of the dancer’s image or recording. It is further understood that this material may be used in various educational and promotional settings within an unrestricted geographic area.
