Madeline Groenendaal, born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania, received her early training at Lake Erie Ballet and Erie Dance Conservatory.
During Madeline’s last two years of high school she studied at Mercyhurst University’s Dance Department and participated in Youth American Grand Prix Competition in Chicago, IL. Madeline graduated high school in 2011 with honors in Arts and Humanities with an emphasis on dance performance through duel enrollment at Mercyhurst University.
Upon recognizing her desire to use dance as ministry, she moved to Jackson, MS in the fall of 2011 to attend Ballet Magnificat’s Trainee program under the direction of Cassandra Voborsky. She has taught dance during her visits home to Erie, PA and overseas in the Dominican Republic through two mission trips that she took through Hispaniola Mountain Ministries.
She graduated from the trainee program May of 2013 and began working at Vertical Church (previously North Ridge Church) and teaching at Ballet Magnificat’s School of the Arts later that year. She has taught several classes from amongst the School’s lower and upper levels.
Recently, she has been ministering in dance in Florence, Italy. She is home for a short break before returning to Italy, and we are so happy to have her teaching class.
