The Quiltmakers Gift

An original musical/ballet created by Linda Wingerter, playwright, Cheryl Giles, composer, Christina Maria Adelhardt and James F. Dixon, choreographers (with additional choreography by Hannah Borczon and Madeline Groenendaal), Michaela Gersims and Laurel Peterson, costumers. Introducing Matthew Bennett and Patio Drive Band, https://www.facebook.com/patiodrive/?fref=ts playing live for the performances.

Lending their exceptional talents are Patty Corella as the Narrator and Delaney Glunt as the Young Girl as well as the voice talents of Laurie Green as the Quiltmaker and Brendan Daugherty as the King and JR Dandrea as the Scribe.

The musical/ballet is based on the children’s book, The Quiltmaker’s Gift. It’s a beautiful story, written by Jeff Brumbeau, illustrated by Gail de Marcken, about an old woman who makes quilts only for the homeless or those in great need. The king is very greedy and must have one. The story is so appropriate for Christmas when it is tempting for us to get caught up in “things”, but by the end of the story the king has realized the joy that comes from giving.
