ELECTIVE DANCE SHOWCASE PERFORMANCE

Solos, Duos, Trios & Emerging Choreographers

INTEREST SUBMISSION:

• Dancers must submit their interest (including genre and possible choreographer) between December 1–20.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT:

• Approval to move forward will take into consideration the dancer’s attendance in all enrolled classes. To be approved, dancers must attend 85-90% of their enrolled classes. Strong attendance is expected to demonstrate commitment and readiness.

CHOREOGRAPHER SELECTION:

• In January, based on genre and availability, choreographers will decide which dancers they would like to work with.
• Emerging choreographers will attend a meeting to decide which dancers they’d like to work with, set their choreography on, and create a rehearsal schedule.

CHOREOGRAPHY FEES:

• Please review the set rates for choreographer fees for new choreography.
• $100 Total
  • Solo, Duo or Trio Split among dancers
  • 3 – 1 hour sessions minimum
  • Extra rehearsals are determined between dancer and choreographer

TIME LIMITS:

• Modern 1 / Tap 1 – 1:30-2:00 minutes
• Modern 2 /Contemporary 1 / Tap 2 – 2:00-2:30 minutes
• Modern 3 /Contemporary 2 / Tap 3 – 2:30-3:00 minutes
• Group – 4:00-4:30 minutes

IN-STUDIO ADJUDICTATION:

• All solos, duos, trios, and emerging choreography works will be presented at an In-Studio Performance in March, where they will be adjudicated by a teacher panel.

FINAL SELECTION FOR SHOWCASE PERFORMANCE:

• By April 1, pieces will be selected to perform in the Elective Dance Showcase Performance, again considering attendance records throughout the year.
