This year, DeZire Howard has been invited to be a part of the Sole Talk Youth Company.
Sole Talk Youth Co. is a tap centric dance company that gives individualized attention to young, aspiring tap dancers. DeZire said, “I am truly honored to have been granted an amazing opportunity to work with the Arnold sisters and Sole Talk. I hope to gain more friendships and connections through my time with the company.”
Sole Talk Youth Co. is a Los Angeles, CA based youth tap company founded by Maud and Chloe Arnold. Their mission is to cultivate, train, and empower young tap dancers on and off the dance floor in a diverse and positive environment. The company invites groups of both male and female dancers ages 12-21 to participate in community performances, music videos, and workshops with guest choreographers.
The Arnold sisters also created the Syncopated Ladies, a Female Tap Dance Band in Los Angeles. Their fierce footwork and feminine style have attracted audiences around the globe with their cutting edge viral videos, including a “Tap Formation” video that Beyoncé has endorsed. Chloe Arnold even received a 2018 Emmy nomination for her choreography for The Late Late Show with James Corden.
The mentors of Sole Talk focus on self-esteem building, entrepreneurship skills, networking opportunities, and community service. Their dream is to help the next generation of thoughtful, intelligent, artistic, creative, free-thinking leaders flourish in a supported community.
DeZire said, “Seeing my parents proud of me is one of the best rewards I could ask for. I’m really looking forward to being challenged in my technique, as well as exploring a new dance environment and learning from new mentors.”
