Saying Good-Bye is Never Easy

…but at least Maeve Bishop isn’t going very far.  She’ll be right here in Erie attending Mercyhurst University in the Fall as a Dance Major.

When she began a little over a year ago, coming just a couple days a week, she was very apprehensive, as students that transfer from other studios often are. The first thing I noticed on her were her amazing feet as well as her confidence when she danced. I was bummed, however, when she chose to take a hiatus and not pursue dance last summer.  But upon a new school year and as time slowly went on, she regained her joy of dancing again.  It was uplifting to me to watch her bloom beginning with a wonderful job dancing the role of Clara in Lake Erie Ballet’s Nutcracker. She branched out and took every class and we all equally were impressed with her proficiency in Tap and Contemporary as well as her ability in Choreography.

Now, I’m so happy to see that she furthered her training this summer as she was awarded a scholarship to attend Fort Wayne Ballet.

Congratulations Maeve!
